Iran's automotive and spare parts industries form a significant and dynamic sector of its economy, producing a wide range of products. These industries encompass diverse commodity groups, some of which are:

  • Vehicles: This group includes a variety of motor vehicles manufactured in Iran, such as passenger cars, vans, trucks, buses, and minibuses. Passenger cars are further categorized into segments such as sedans, hatchbacks, SUVs, and others based on size and purpose.

  • Spare Parts: Iran's automotive spare parts industry is highly diverse, producing a wide range of components. These include engine and related parts such as pistons, cylinders, crankshafts, etc., transmission systems including gearboxes and differentials, suspension and braking systems, electrical and lighting systems, air conditioning systems, and body parts.

  • Automotive Accessories: This group includes car accessories and add-ons such as rims and tires, audio and video systems, navigation systems, body kits, decorative lights, seat covers, and other decorative and functional items.

  • Electric Motors: Iran is also active in the production of electric motors for vehicles. These include electric motors for electric and hybrid vehicles, as well as starter motors and alternators in conventional vehicles.

  • Advanced Systems: With advancements in automotive technology, advanced systems are increasingly integrated into vehicles. This group includes driver assistance systems (ADAS), autonomous driving systems, in-car communication and infotainment systems, voice and facial recognition systems, and more.

  • Metallic and Non-metallic Parts: The automotive industries utilize a range of materials. Metallic parts include steel, aluminum, and other metal components used in bodies, chassis, and engines. Non-metallic parts include plastic, glass, and rubber components.

  • Safety Systems: This group includes both active and passive safety systems in vehicles. Examples include airbags, anti-lock braking systems (ABS), electronic stability control (ESC), warning systems, seat belts, and more.
